Overview Of Hemkuind Sahib Package

Hemkund Sahib, or Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Ji as it was earlier called, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India. The Sanskrit word Hemkund literally translates to “bowl of ice”, and as the name suggests, this picturesque hill station located at an elevation of 4,632 meters above sea level flaunts a breathtakingly splendid glacial lake at the heart of it, colloquially referred to as the Lokpal Lake. The shimmering water of the lake acts as the centerpiece of Hemkund Sahib, with seven snow-covered mountain peaks of the Himalayan ranges encircling its perimeter, each peak crowned with a holy Nishan Sahib. The peaks are collectively referred to as Hemkund Parvat.

Best Time To Go On Hemkund Sahib

Hemkund Sahib is snow clad for at least 8 months in a year from October to May. Hemkund Sahib opens for public from 1st June every year and closes on 4th October. But after the floods in 2013 the opening and closing dates may vary. In the month of May last three kilometer trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib in full of snow. Indian Army clears the trek for pilgrims you will not find any vegetation in the last three kilometer of the trek. Some beautiful flowers can be seen near Ghangaria and first three kilometer of the trek. Following are some of the pictures taken during mid may to mid June.

Day 1 - Haridwar/Rishikesh - Pandukeshwar (295kms. 9 Hrs)

Earily Morning, drive from Haridwar to Pandukeshwar. Arrive in Pandukeshwar check in hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay is at hotel in Pandukeshwar.)

Day 2 - Pandukeshwar - Badrinath – Pandukeshwar

Morning after Breakfast drive to Badrinath, and visit Shri Badrinath temple bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). After visit temple drive to Pandukeshwar. Dinner & Overnight stay is at hotel in Pandukeshwar

Day 3 - Pandukeshwar/Govindghat To Ghangharia (Trek) 14Kms

Post early breakfast, Govindghat (a small hamlet situated on the confluence of Alaknanda and roaring Laxman Ganga and start point for the fully escorted treak). Govind Ghat to Ghangharia (base village for Hemkund Sahib) is a beautiful trek route with magnificent views and river accompanying you throughout. Hot lunch on the trek route. In the late afternoon, arrive at Ghangharia on the banks of Laxman Ganga. Dinner and overnight stay in Ghangharia.

Day 4 - Day Trip To Hemkund Sahib (5.5kms Oneside)

Post breakfast today we start our fully escorted trek to Hemkund - internationally acclaimed, one of the finest high latitude lakes in Uttarakhand Himalayas. It is also a place of worship for Sikhs and Hindus. It’s an uphill trek to reach Hemkund. See the crystal clear lake with astonishing views of surrounding peaks, visit Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara and Lakshman Temple on the banks of the lake. Return to Govindghat via Ghangharia in the evening for dinner and overnight stay in Ghangharia.

Day 5 - Ghangriya - Govindghat/Joshimath.

Post breakfast today we start our fully escorted trek to Govindghat. Drive to Joshimath. Dinner & Overnight stay in Joshimath.

Day 6 - Rudraprayag To Rishikesh/Haridwar

Post early breakfast, we start our drive from Joshimath/Rudraprayag to Rishikesh. Drop at Haridwar/Rishikesh Railway station. Trip ends with fond memories. Tour End.

Neat, clean, hygienic accommodation on Twin or Double Sharing as per your preferences. Inclusive of transport services for 9 Nights & 10 Days. (Ex Haridwar) All Breakfast & Dinner. All point to point sight-seeing as per given program possible in time frame. Transportation from Haridwar to Haridwar (for the designated meeting point). –Haridwar and vice versa, AC will not run in the hills. All toll, tax, parking and driver allowances are included.

GST as Applicable. Accommodation and meals in Kedarnath Ji will be on direct payment, Any International or Domestic Air or Rail Tickets, Rest All Meals, Table drinks, laundry, porter, pony / Palaki, tips, camera fee, ropeway charges, entrance charges, travel / personal health insurance, personal expenses of the clients or any other expenses incurred due to bad weather, road closure, landslides etc. and anything not specified in cost included.
