Trekking in Chopta Chandrashila

Chopta is a beautiful area with dense and diverse forest. Chopta is part of Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary (975 km ²) is Situated in Rudraprayag and Chamoli district. Chopta region is stretched from 2000 meters to 4000 meters altitude. Chopta is famous place among nature lovers. Chopta has rich biodiversity and beautiful views of the Himalayan landscape. Chopta is also known as "Mini Switzerland" in India. Chopta is visited any time throughout the year. Best time to visit Chopta is during winter, due to snow fall in the region. Chopta is located in the Rudraprayag district. Chopta is also starting point of Tungnath and Chandrashila. Tungnath is a temple of Lord Shiva and Chandrashila is the highest point in the area. Chandrashila Tungnath Trek
Chandrashila which is a paradise in itself is a summit of the Chandranath Parbat on which Tungnath temple (the highest Shiva temple in the world) is situated. It is a beautiful trek place passed through forests and vast meadows, and offers excellent views of snow clad Himalayas especially Himalayas. Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is one of the five and the highest Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tunganath (literal meaning: Lord of the peaks) mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys.

Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila Trekking Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Delhi to Rishikesh (250 kms / 6-7 Hrs)
Meet our assistant at Delhi followed by a drive to Rishikesh. After arrival at Rishikesh Check in at hotel. Evening is free to explore surroundings at your own. Visit lakshman jhula, Ram jhula, and evening Ganga aarti. Dinner and overnight at Rishikesh.

Day 02: Rishikesh to Sari Village to Devoria Tal (220 Kms Drive/02 kms Trek)
Morning after breakfast drive for Sari Village 220 km approx 7-8 hrs drive. After arrival at Sari village start your trek for Devoria Tal 03 Kms (1-2 hrs trek) from Sari Village. On arrival put you camp in Devoria Tal. Day leisure for rest and enjoy the sun rise and sun set. Overnight at Devoria Tal.

Day 03: Devoria Tal to Roni Bugyal (07 km Trek)
Morning after breakfast packed your camp and trek start for Roni Bugyal 07 km trek approx 4-5 Hrs. On arrival Roni Bugyal put your camp. Day free for leisure and enjoy Born fire with sun set and sun rise. Overnight at Roni Bugyal.

Day 04: Roni Bugyal to Chopta (07 km Trek)
Morning after breakfast packed your camp and trek start for Chopta 07 km trek approx 4-5 Hrs. On arrival Chopta. Day free for leisure and enjoy Born fire. Overnight at Chopta.

Day 05: Chopta to Tungnath to Chandrashila- Chopta (09 km Trek)
Morning after breakfast trek start for Chandrashila 4.5 km One way trek approx 3-4 Hrs. On the way visit Tungnath Temple. Enjoy the peaks and back Trek down Chopta . Overnight at Roni Bugyal.

Day 06: Chopta to Haridwar (230 km / 7-8 Hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive start for Haridwar. On the way visit Devoprayag, Vashistha Cave on arrival at Haridwar check in hotel. Evening enjoy the Ganga aarti at Hari ki Pauri.

Day 07: Haridwar – Delhi (230 km/ 5-6Hrs)
Morning after breakfast enjoy cable car ride for Mansa Devi temple and visit some temple and drive back to Delhi for your next Destination.
